Halloween is often associated with the colours black and orange, and is strongly associated with symbols like the ‘Jack O’ Lantern’ which we are all very familiar with. Halloween celebrations and activities include trick or treat, costume wearing, costume parties, ghost tours, bonfires, visiting haunted attractions, making lanterns from pumpkins: or ‘Jack O’Lantern’s as they are better known, playing pranks on people, reading scary stories, playing snap-apple, watching horror movies and much more. Samhain Parade – 31st October 2009.
Each year on October 31st the people of Dublin and its visitors come together for the Annual Samhain Parade. Samhain meaning ‘Summer’s end’ in Gaelic, is celebrated with a spectacular and colourful parade to mark the end of summer and the people are encouraged to dress up and join in the festivities. Spectators are treated to a splendid display of dancers, performers, monsters, ghosts, giants, goblins, witches and much more. The Parade will commence at Parnell Square and travel down to O’Connell Street, then onto Westmoreland Street and finally into Temple Bar where the parade will finish with an extravagant and colourful fireworks display.
Come and experience this fantastic parade and soak up the wonderful atmosphere that is sure to capture everyone’s imagination. The parade will commence at 7pm and is a ‘must see’ if you are in Dublin this Halloween.
Dublin Ghost Bus Tour

Halloween Hidden Dublin Walks
The Halloween Hidden Dublin Walks is a special Halloween excursion that will run on Thursday 29th October, Friday 30th October, and on Halloween night Saturday 31st October 2009. The meeting point for this is at Saint Audeon’s Church which is located at the Cook Street entrance. Please be aware that you are advised to arrive 15 minutes prior to tour departure.
The tour will commence with a ‘Special Haunted Walking Tour’ where you will learn of many dark tales from this ancient city called Dublin. The tour will then continue by luxury coach to The Dublin Mountains where you will visit ‘The Hellfire Club’! This is one of Ireland’s most isolated, lonely and infamous places where people dare to go!
