Spock Costume – A Great Halloween Costume Idea

An officially licensed Spock costume, an outfit manufactured all in one piece to fit ultra-young Star Trek fans, allowing them to ‘live-long-and-prosper’ along with older siblings as they go out and about in their larger sized fancy dress.

This Spock costume has been designed to fit tiny people from the age of six to twelve months. The official Starship Enterprise costume consists of long-sleeved blue shirt with its black neckline in the classic crew-neck and a ‘beam-me-up-Scotty’ insignia badge on the left-hand side of the chest.

This Little Spock toddler costume makes a great outfit to celebrate Halloween or to wear to a kiddies’ party. It could be that the all-in-one jumpsuit made in 100% polyester may be a bit hot during the summer months, or in a hot climate: as if you little Vulcan is likely to notice that!

You could separate the bodice of the costume out as one enterprising [sorry about the pun] mother has done, substituting the trouser part of the Spock costume for a pair of black tights.

The outfits for the new Star Trek movie, released in May 2009, are completely different to the original series and this is reflected in the official costumes that are now being produced.

Although some of the older styles for the Starfleet costumes are still being sold and are very popular still with fans. With a bit of thought it is quite easy to update these original designs, however, to bring everything up to date.

The new Star Trek Enterprise costumes feature different colour tops, with Scotty’s being portrayed in red and the Spock costume is in royal blue, each with the Star Trek logo on the left breast.

The Spock child costume is manufactured in small, medium and large to fit a wide range of children’s ages. The other colour the top is manufactured in is gold, the colour for Kirk, the eventual captain of SS Enterprise.

The latest Spock costume has been manufactured in 87% nylon and 13% spandex, suitable only for hand washing.

Michael Kaplan who is the designer responsible for creating the new costumes for the 2009 Star Trek movie has made various alterations to the original 1960s design.

Basically, Kaplan has used the original design and added a dark charcoal grey shirt and grey trousers to the uniform, with jumpers in different colours that make each different character’s job explicit.

So, even if the Spock adult costume that you already have belongs to the original style, you can update it by adding the grey shirt and trousers, adapting it yourself along the way.

The costumes produced as a result of the 2009 movie are made to a particularly high quality, from 87% nylon and 13% spandex, as in the children’s range of Star Trek Enterprise costumes.

The official Star Fleet logo has been embroidered into the top, which is manufactured in red, blue, or gold depending on your preference for characters, with blue being that designated for the Spock costume.

For older Trekkies, you can purchase vinyl Spock ears to fit over your own ears, completing the Star Trek crew’s uniform, whilst for baby Spock the ears come as part of the complete headpiece, making it easier for them to remain in place.

Then, of course, no Star Trek Enterprise costume would be complete without the ubiquitous electronic Phaser gun, the electronic communicator or the latest in Star Trek electronic Tricorders.

There is also the Tricorder from the original series, the Wrath of Khan Phaser and the actual model of the USS Enterprise starship itself.

However, when it comes to being a Star Trek fan, no self-respecting Trekkie could ever be considered fully dressed without the latest model of Vulcan ears to complete the full Spock costume in its entirety.
