Having Fun Safely With Infant Halloween Costumes

Halloween is a time when the infants can also have fun. It is really interesting dressing them up in different kinds of costumes. It is really cute to watch these children below two years and parents enjoy dressing them up.

It is really simple to dress the infants in costumes of animals and birds. They can be dressed up in baby bunting costumes. They can be dressed as a bunny, a lamb, a dragon, a monkey, a puppy or a duck. They can wear the costumes of brave lions, striped tigers, teddy bears, baby elephants, cuddly cats or dogs, birds with feathers, colorful peacocks, bumblebees etc. They can also be dressed as a caterpillar, a lobster or even a goldfish. Infants can also be dressed as a pizza slice, a banana, a football, a Hershey’s kiss or even a little devil. It is easy to make them wear a pant and shirt of the material and color that is suited to that particular animal or bird. Then accessories can be attached. Masks can be also given. Infants love to dress up in the clothes of animals which they can identify with.

Infants nowadays watch a lot of television. They can identify characters in the television shows. So, they can wear costumes that make them look like Superman, Batman and Spiderman. They can also be dressed up as Tom and Jerry, Minnie Mouse and Mickey Mouse, Pokeman, Winnie the Pooh, etc.

They can also be made to look like fruits, vegetables and flowers. The right type of costume has to be chosen and they can identify with the dress. The infants can also wear the costume of Barbie doll or an angel. Girls would love to look like Barbie doll.

While dressing up infants in various costumes some safety measures should be followed. The infant has to wear the costume for quite some time. Care should be taken so that the costume chosen should be comfortable and not too tight. It should also not be too long such that it will make the infant trip and fall. It should not irritate the skin of the infant. The costume should also suit the weather conditions of the place. If it is too cold, the infant should have layers of clothing inside the dress. If it is a warm place, the costume itself should be of a light material.

The infant should be placed in an area where there are other infants. This will provide safety for the child. When it is dark, the infant should be easily seen and recognized. It will be good to stick a reflective tape to the costume so that it is easy to identify the infant in the Halloween party. The reflective tape can glitter and shine. It can be placed on the wings of a fairy or the hood of animals or on the back or the front of any dress.

There will be jack-o-lanterns at the Halloween party. Since the material chosen might not be fire resistant, the infant should be carefully looked after.

An infant might not be ready to wear a mask, since they will not be able to see properly through it for a long time. The best thing would be apply light make up. Any over-the-counter paint that is used on the face might be zinc or acrylic based. The paint might not be easily removable on face, hair and clothes. If make up is used, it should be tested for sensitivity. If a cold cream base is used, it will make the removal of make up easy.

Care should be taken to ensure the safety of the infant so that the whole family can enjoy the Halloween festive mood.
