Although basic wardrobes for pregnant women have come a long way in terms of style and availability, getting dressed can still feel like a challenge with an ever-expanding stomach. To avoid overheating, avoid costumes that are too fitted and cover most of the body, and always drink extra fluids.

It is also very important to hem costumes at a reasonable length so that you don’t trip as you go off trick or treating.  Pregnant women are generally more off-balance than those who are not pregnant, and so stability and safety have to be considered. Homemade costumes are a great way to go because you will have total control over fabric and fit.
